Three services. Done carefully.
We don't offer a long menu of options. Just three services, each scoped precisely to what mechanical watches actually need at different stages of their service life.
← Back to HomeOur methodology
Every watch that arrives at Tourbillon Nook begins the same way: on a timing machine. Rate, amplitude, and beat error are recorded. The data tells us what the movement needs — not a standard maintenance schedule or an assumption based on brand. This diagnostic stage is free and shared with you before any work is quoted.
From there, we recommend the most suitable service from our three options. If the watch needs only regulation, we regulate it. If the seals have been untouched for four years and the owner uses it near water, we discuss replacement. If the movement hasn't been opened in a decade, a complete service is the appropriate path. The choice is always explained — and always yours.
Mechanical Watch Tuning
For timepieces that are running but have drifted outside acceptable accuracy. The watch is placed on a timing machine to measure rate, amplitude, and beat error across multiple positions. Based on the readings, the balance wheel regulator is carefully adjusted to bring timing within standard tolerances. No disassembly is required for minor adjustments.
What the service includes
- Full multi-position timing diagnostic
- Balance wheel regulator adjustment
- Post-adjustment rate verification
- Written service record
- External case wipe-down
Process steps
- 01 Intake and timing machine placement across 6 positions
- 02 Reading analysis — rate, amplitude, beat error reviewed
- 03 Regulator pin adjusted in small increments
- 04 Post-adjustment timing confirmation
- 05 Documentation and return
Gasket & Seal Replacement
Restores the environmental protection of your watch. All accessible gaskets — caseback, crown, crystal, and pushers — are removed, inspected, and replaced with compatible new seals. After installation, the watch undergoes a dry pressure test to confirm each seal point meets resistance specifications.
What the service includes
- Removal and inspection of all case gaskets
- Crown, caseback, crystal, and pusher seals replaced
- Compatible replacement seals fitted per spec
- Dry pressure test to verify all seal points
- Case and crystal exterior cleaned
- Written service record with test results
Process steps
- 01 Case examination and gasket condition assessment
- 02 Case opened, gaskets removed and inspected
- 03 Replacement seals selected and fitted per case specification
- 04 Dry pressure test across all seal points
- 05 Case cleaned, documented, and returned
Complete Movement Service
A full-scope internal service for mechanical and automatic calibres. The movement is removed from the case, fully disassembled, and each component is cleaned in a multi-stage ultrasonic bath. Worn parts — including the mainspring, click spring, and winding gears — are replaced where needed. The movement is reassembled with fresh lubrication applied to all specified points, regulated across six positions, and tested for 48-hour accuracy consistency.
What the service includes
- Full movement disassembly and component inventory
- 4-stage ultrasonic cleaning of all parts
- Worn components replaced (mainspring, click spring, winding gears as needed)
- Manufacturer-grade lubrication at all specified points
- Six-position regulation
- 48-hour accuracy consistency test
- Case and crystal exterior cleaned
- Full written service record with parts list
Process steps
- 01 Intake assessment, timing machine baseline recorded
- 02 Case opened, movement removed and photographed
- 03 Full disassembly, component-level inspection
- 04 Multi-stage ultrasonic cleaning
- 05 Parts replacement (client notified before proceeding)
- 06 Reassembly with fresh lubrication
- 07 Six-position regulation and 48-hour timing test
- 08 Case cleaned, cased up, documented, and returned

Technical standards across all services
Privacy & Security
No watch is left accessible to anyone other than the assigned technician. Intake and collection are in person only.
Moebius & Nye Lubricants
Industry-standard watch oils and greases applied per calibre technical data sheets. No substitutions.
Direct Communication
You speak with the workshop, not a call centre. Questions go to the person handling the watch.
Documented Compliance
Each service record notes the calibre, work performed, parts used, and timing data. Appropriate for insurance and resale purposes.
