What a watchmaker's bench should look like
The difference between a competent service and a careful one isn't always visible in the result — until six months later. Here's what goes into ours.

Timing machine diagnostic at no charge
Every watch is assessed on a timing machine before any work is quoted. Rate, amplitude, and beat error data are shared with you so the recommendation is grounded in evidence.
Fifteen years of mechanical calibre work
The workshop has been operating since 2009. The watchmaker leading each service trained under a Geneva-based movement specialist. This is not a generalist repair shop that occasionally handles watches.
Scoped to what the watch needs
A watch that needs regulation won't be pushed into a full service. The scope is determined by the diagnostic, not a pricing structure. You'll always know what's being done and why.
Industry-grade cleaning equipment
Multi-stage ultrasonic baths with purpose-specific fluids per component type. Contamination is removed properly — not just wiped away — before lubrication is applied.
Written service record with every job
Findings, parts replaced, and timing readings before and after — documented and returned with the watch. A paper trail your watchmaker or insurer will appreciate.
Updates before changes are made
If anything changes mid-service — an unexpected worn component — you are contacted with a written note before any additional work proceeds. Nothing extra happens without your agreement.
Movement knowledge that runs deeper than average
Swiss, German, and Japanese mechanical calibres each have distinct service requirements — lubrication schedules, wear patterns, common failure modes. Fifteen years of focused work on mechanical movements means these aren't looked up each time. They're already understood.
- Trained in Geneva movement servicing techniques
- Handles vintage pocket watches and modern automatics
- Calibre-specific knowledge, not generic procedures
"Understanding a calibre means knowing which components age first, which lubricants suit the metal grades in use, and where wear begins before it becomes visible. That knowledge shortens the diagnosis and improves the service."
— Workshop NotesThe right tools, used correctly
A timing machine without someone who understands the output is just a display. Our diagnostic process uses multi-position timing data to identify what the movement actually needs — not what the calendar says it should need.
- Witschi timing machines for accurate rate measurement
- L&R and Elma ultrasonic cleaning systems
- Bergeon and Horotec movement tools throughout
You're spoken to, not managed
Every watch comes in through a face-to-face conversation. We ask about the watch's history. We share the timing data. We explain what we're going to do and why. At collection, we walk through the service record together.
- No drop-box intake — personal handling from arrival
- Mid-service communication if anything changes
- Service record reviewed at collection
Pricing that reflects what the work actually involves
Service prices are set per procedure, not per brand. A Seiko automatic and an ETA-based Swiss watch of similar complexity are priced similarly. The work determines the cost, not the logo on the dial.
- Fixed prices per service type — listed clearly
- No brand premium on standard service
- Additional parts listed separately with your approval
How we differ from typical options
Not every watch repair service approaches the work in the same way. Here's how our approach compares to what's more commonly offered.
Typical repair shops
- Service scope based on elapsed time since last service, regardless of condition
- Verbal quotes, no written pre-service record
- Single-tank cleaning or bench ultrasonic only
- Regulation in one or two positions only
- No post-service accuracy test period
- Works across all watch types — mechanical, quartz, digital
Tourbillon Nook
- Service scope determined by timing machine diagnostic — evidence first
- Written findings shared before work begins
- Four-stage ultrasonic cleaning with fluid-matched tanks
- Six-position regulation to match real-world wear orientations
- 48-hour post-reassembly accuracy test included in full service
- Mechanical and automatic only — deep focus, not broad coverage
What only we offer
Free Pre-Service Diagnostic
Timing machine data shared with you before any work is agreed. You understand the condition of your movement before making a decision.
Printed Service Record
A physical record returned with the watch — before and after timing readings, parts list, any observations. Something to keep alongside the watch for future reference.
Personal Intake & Collection
No couriers, no drop boxes. Every watch is received and returned in person — so we can speak with you at both ends of the process.
